BMW factory differential bushings are made of a soft rubber, designed to absorb vibrations between the chassis and differential, providing comfort and softness for normal driving conditions. However, differential bushings are a wear item. They are not designed to last the life of the car and should be inspected periodically, especially if you drive more aggressively, as this can also wear out these bushings even faster. If you ever notice any cracking in the bushings, its time to replace them, for the best driving feel and experience.
